On the life of Sayyidah Aisha, seeking knowledge is not exclusive to men alone.
[Unclear phrase.] Sayyidah Fatima al-Zahra, the beloved daughter of Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam.
The love of this female and the Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam was [unclear].
[Unclear opening words.] Just imagine yourself: your father lay on his deathbed and he called you and he [unclear] in your ear.
You will die after me.
Sayyidah Fatima cried when her father was laying on the deathbed, cried and she called him.
And he called her and she came to his ear and he said to her words and when she got up she smiled.
Who took note? Sayyidah Aisha took note.
Called her and said you cried and then your father told you something and you smiled.
What did he tell you?
She said I was very sad when I saw my father in that state but then he said to me you will be the first of my family to die after me.
And it made her so happy.
So how is that love between a father and daughter, such that I become so happy that I will die after my father?
The first one, I will be the one that meet him again.
Sometimes days pass without her having any food in her house.
She worked with her own hands until they became rough.
Yet she never complained.
And when she requested from her father a servant, instead he informed her about dhikr that she should make before she sleeps.
So contentment brings, we learn from her, contentment brings happiness and contentment brings luxury.
As our Nabi, peace be upon him, teaches,
we think wealth makes us happy.
The Nabi, peace be upon him, said happiness is not how much ground you possess,
how much wealth you have.
But wealth is how satisfied you are with what you have.
If you have that satisfaction, then you are the most wealthiest person they can be.
And so we can speak about many women in Islam,
Sumaiya bint Khayyab, the first lady that was martyred for Islam,
Umm Salama and her wisdom at Hudaibiyah, Nusaybah bint Ka‘ab,
the one who defended the Nabi, peace be upon him, in the battle of Uhud, the Nabi, peace be upon him.
He didn't say about the men, even the men were confused.
They thought it's a male fighting.
They couldn't understand who's this male fighting, the Nabi, peace be upon him.
[Unclear phrase] I turned and saw Nusaybah.
And I called out to [unclear], Nusaybah:
what do you wish for?
And she said, Ya Rasulullah, I wish only to be your companion in Jannah.
That's all I wish for.
That's all I'll sacrifice my whole family.
But if I can be a companion of you, Ya Rasulullah, in Jannah,
that is all that I want.
Rufaida al-Aslamiyya, the first Muslim nurse,
Hafsa radiyaAllah ta'ala anha,
the custodian of the written Quran,
[Unclear words] Umm Sulaim,
who patiently, after the death of her child,
amazed the Nabi, peace be upon him.
So each of these women remind us of the greatness
that is to be found in sacrifice,
in sincerity and in courage of faith.
Today, the world teaches our daughters different.
Today, the world teaches our daughters totally different.
Beauty is everything.
Followers on social media is everything.
Fashion is everything.
Popularity is everything.
Islam says otherwise.
Islam teaches faith before fashion.
Character before cosmetics.
Modesty before popularity.
Knowledge before entertainment.
And Jannah before this dunya.
So we should learn from this,
that we should teach our daughters
that their value is not measured by likes on social media,
but by the record that the angels on their shoulders
will be writing down.
Teach them that hijab is not oppression,
but it's obedience to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Teach them that [unclear word] is honour.
Teach them that dignity cannot be bought.
Brothers in Islam,
if we speak or if we praise women only during this month,
and we [unclear] them in the next month,
then our words are empty.
Our Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam, as we said,
is the one that uttered the words,
[Arabic quotation; transcription uncertain.] The best of you are those who are the best to their families, because I was the best to my families.
How many homes suffer because of anger, suffer because of harsh speech, neglect, abuse, remember, every husband will stand before Allah.
Every father will answer regarding his daughters, every son will answer regarding his mother.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala remind us in the holy Quran,
[Arabic quotation, unclear transcription.] And live with them in kindness.
So dear brothers and sisters, I know many a times when we speak about women, the husband and the wife,
the male sit and say, what about us? And what about us?
I remember the Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam came to us to teach us how to live with females.
He wasn't a female. So he came to teach males how to live with females.
And the Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam teaches beautifully in the hadith.
The Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam says, the female is created from the rib of the male.
So he speaks to us. So he teaches and he says that the rib is crooked.
And there's nothing wrong with that.
[Unclear opening words.] When we were still in hadith class, when he explained this hadith,
he made it clear to us. He said there's nothing wrong with that rib being crooked.
Allah [unclear] it like that.
He gave an example: [unclear phrase], like a sickle.
He told us, imagine that was straight. Imagine it was straight.
How difficult it would have been for you to cut [unclear].
It only worked perfectly crooked. It worked perfectly crooked and it made your job easier.
So when the Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam said, she's created from the rib of the male and the rib is crooked,
The Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam [unclear phrase]. Leave it. Do not try to change it.
She's not your mommy. She's not your sister. She's not your aunt.
Don't try to make her into that. You're going to break her.
You're going to lose her if you're going to do that.
The Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam said, the straightening of it is the breaking of it.
The Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam said, the straightening of it is the breaking of it.
The breaking of it is the talaqah.
So leave it like that. You can work with her in the parameters of Islam.
Allah says in the Quran,
This is the boundaries of Allah.
Just don't cross the boundaries.
[08:20–08:38: unclear passage, including Afrikaans.]
So we need to change many times our mindset,
because many males were brought up with certain sayings.
Islam doesn't teach us that.
The Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam got up.
He wanted to go up by the door in the middle of the night.
And she got up and she said,
Ya Rasulullah, where are you going?
And he smiled.
And he turned around and said,
Do you think I will go to one of my other wives
while it's my time to spend with you?
And she said [unclear].
[Unclear phrase.]
This is the Rasulullah.
This is the Nabi of Allah.
She still thought [unclear].
[Unclear phrase.]
She still thought [unclear].
The Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam said,
And this is the beauty.
In many of our homes,
[09:36–09:41: unclear passage.]
The Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam turned around and told her,
I am going to the [unclear place name].
I am going to the [unclear].
[Unclear phrase.]
And I'm going to read some Quran.
Because I miss my friends that passed away in Badr.
I miss them.
[09:56–10:01: unclear passage.]
That's our Rasulullah.
And she appreciated [unclear],
that he informed her.
And she wrote to him something beautiful [unclear connecting words].
that she read when she came back.
And when she came back,
she was very fluent in poetry.
She said,
if the women, in the time of Yusuf,
cut their fingers when they saw Yusuf,
I fear the women in our time will cut their hearts
when they see him.
See how that beautiful expression of love.
And the Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam was never bothered
with her asking questions.
She will sleep.
And then the Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam will feel her hand
going like that,
and then the Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam will feel that
[10:50–10:55: unclear wording, including a reference to shaytan.]
Just like this, all.
Not going in and arguing and saying,
no, no, no.
The Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam was just calm
when he spoke to her.
And it is not,
[Unclear phrase.] He became angry this time.
He became angry,
Sayyidah Aisha said,
I asked him once,
I told Fatima,
Allah replaced your mother with a younger lady.
And it made Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam angry.
Because Fatima came and said,
Ya Rasulullah,
Aisha says that my mother was replaced by Allah.
And then Nabi alayhi salatu was-salam came angry and said,
she was never replaced by no one.
She stood by me when no one stood by me.
She spent all her wealth for me
when no one wanted to stand by my side.
So Nabi Aisha even said,
I never spoke about her again after this.
I never dared to speak about her again after this.
But,
[11:51–11:55: unclear connecting words.]
Allah teaches in the Quran.
Allah says,
[Arabic quotation; transcription uncertain.]
Say words that are beautiful to each other.
yuslih lakum a'amalakum
If you speak that beautiful word,
it will bring suluk.
It will bring suluk.
yuslih lakum a'amalakum
So if there is an issue,
if you speak that beautiful word,
it will change everything.
[12:22–12:28: unclear words.]
Allah says yuslih lakum a'amalakum
Say beautiful words,
yuslih lakum a'amalakum
Say I am sorry.
yuslih lakum a'amalakum
Allah will forgive all the shortcomings.
Allah will do that.
[12:44–12:48: unclear passage.]
So Allah teaches us in the Quran,
many a time we go through
a thousand ways to spice up my life.
Islam teaches us all the time,
1400 years ago,
how to spice up the life.
We should just,
the Nabi'ah says,
study the way of life of the Nabi'ah,
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,
and we will then, inshallah,
ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
to accept to make things easy for us, inshallah.
It's not easy, but Allah is the one that can make it easy.
And those who are in difficulty,
ask Allah to make it easy for those people,
Those who are sick, Allah grant them shifa,
and those who have passed on, Allah grant them
a high place, inshallah.
JazakAllah khayran wazim
